Karoliina T. Salminen from Nokia confirms support for Bluetooth keyboards in Nokia 770:
I have seen by my own eyes bluetooth keyboard running with N770 and it works fine. However, the problem currently is the input method (virtual keyboard) which pops up when you tap some input field. If that does not bother you, the external keyboard is usable without modifications allthough is currently unsupported.
Well, actually she confirms that it is officially _unsupported_…
Comment by Roope 07.06.05 @ 3:46 pmIt is refreshing to see the very open and honest approach Nokia are taking with this thing. I don’t know anything about Linux but I have done Palm coding in the past and need an upgrade for my poor old Palm V. I’ll probably have to get one from the US I can’t imagine them being available in NZ any time soon.

Is the forementioned BT keyboard you are using is Nokia’s SU-8W?
Here a review of Nokia’s SU-8W Bluetooth Keyboard review.jsp?Id=1489
Probably you can post shoot/photo of the N770 with the BT keyboard in Maemo.org.
Plugin BT keyboard would probably appropriate to this, similar to the IR Keyboard in qtopia. The plugin will disable the virtual keyboard with BT keyboard is selected, please see screeshots to see what I meant;

Comment by NS 07.18.05 @ 10:28 amHi to all, I’m writing from Italy.
Regarding Nokia SU-8W keyboard I found at this link: http://770.fs-security.com/keyboards.html the program that you can install on your Nokia 770 in order to support the Nokia BT Keyboard.
I’ve installed it and is working properly.

Has anyone found a way to use the flip out keyboard on the nokia phones (6820 & 6822) as a bluetooth keyboard for the 770? I have the 6820 and the keyboard is quite simple to use. Given that I’m already going to be carrying around the 6820 & the 770 I don’t want to also carry a separate bluetooth keyboard. I would think that there should be a way to ‘identify’ the 6820/6822 as a bt keyboard? anyone up for some development?
