Newton on Nokia 770

Remember Newton? Apple-branded PDA that some say was a complete product failure, some say was an idea ahead of its time? NewtOS/Einstein now works on Nokia 770. The neat photos are here, the binaries for Einstein are here.

Cool, but it seems a bit pointless.

I’d like to see a port of PalmOS more.

I also would like to see some PDA functions that could make it usefull. Graffeti 1 would definitly make me buy a 770 today. Otherwise it looks like i will have to stick with the old Tungsten 2 and Graffeti 2.

Very nice - please tell me, when the combination Nokia 770 / Einstein is ready to replace my aging Newton 2100 ;-)

this won’t replace your newt any time soon. The emulator is sluggish and though there are programmers trying to get it to work, the einstein and rom image of the Newton (as well as the nokia OS) eat up so much memory, it is very slow. Aside from that, you would also need either a USB driver for newt or an external IRDA to get information in and out of the machine…
