Alright, early developers, who’s selling Nokia 770 on eBay from Burkesville, Kentucky?
Come on… this is unfair…
legitimate developers are still waiting for a code… and this guy is selling his!!
Maybe that’s why nokia isn’t shipping the rest of the codes…
Thanks a lot, you idiot!
Be careful on this one! I wrote to this person and it is being shipped our of Eastern Europe and outside of eBay’s juristiction. No Paypal (even though it says so at the bottom). I’m no eBay expert but I’ve read that when you hear Eastern Europe, Western Union money transfer only, and e-mail outside of the eBay system, that raises all kinds of red flags. I hope that I’m wrong, but I backed away for this reason.
Comment by TomC 10.22.05 @ 4:21 amThere is something fishy about those auctions. The one you linked to is gone. And I have looked over the last few days and there is always one that keeps appearing but with different contact info each time. I’ll wait for the official release even though I’ll have to get one from the states. Locally (NZ) the Nokia dealers have no idea what a 770 is!
Comment by Simon 10.23.05 @ 4:35 amIt’s not developers selling theirs. It’s a con. Watch the auctions for a day or two. All using the same sell. All using hotmail or other free email addresses. There are several auctions using the exact same story in different locations. People saying they have 10 or 15 to sell. As Tom says no Paypal and shipped from Eastern Europe. Yeah, right (as they say in the Tui ads). Dodgy!
Comment by Simon 10.23.05 @ 6:21 pmyeah as soon as I asked for the picture they all ran away.. almost gave my 300 dollars away haha!
Comment by philmcneal 10.25.05 @ 7:10 pmThese are all scams to get your email address, then when they email you back, they hack into your address book and system. It’s more of an active hack rather than a virus or worm, or at least that what ebay has told me in several emails. Ebay is actively pursuing these scam artists, so please report any other occurances you come across.
